‘Twisters,’ ‘Deadpool’ and more: A complete guide to summer 2024’s biggest blockbuster movies

There is a wide range of summer blockbusters to choose from this year, catering to all movie enthusiasts. „US Weekly“ has put together a detailed guide to help you navigate through the must-watch films.

One of the highly anticipated movies is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the latest installment in George Miller’s post-apocalyptic series. Anya Taylor-Joy takes on the role of the young Furiosa, originally played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road. The storyline follows her journey as she is abducted from her home and finds herself stuck between two rival warlords, Dr. Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) and Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme).

Creating a summer blockbuster is a challenging endeavor. Taylor-Joy revealed to The New York Times that while filming in Australia, she went through extended periods without any dialogue, facing intense solitude. She mentioned that her struggles were not related to working with Miller as a director but rather the demands of her character.

‘I want to clarify that I have deep admiration for George, and it was an incredible experience working with him. However, he had a specific vision for Furiosa, which required me to convey everything through my eyes for a large portion of the film,’ she explained. ‘There were no words, no outward display of emotions – just pure communication through my eyes.’

Despite the obstacles, Taylor-Joy was attracted to the role due to her passion for portraying empowered female figures and ensuring the pain of Furiosa was profoundly felt. ‘Humans have limits, and I fought tirelessly for months to have just one scream in the film,’ she added.
