Amtrak has announced the suspension of its service between New York and Boston for the remainder of the day. The disruption is a result of a malfunctioning circuit breaker causing a power outage on all tracks between Penn Station in New York and Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut. Amtrak posted a message on its website at 3:30 p.m. regarding the suspension and plans to provide updates through its online platform.
Passengers holding reservations on trains affected by the suspension will be assisted by Amtrak, either by accommodating them on trains with similar departure times or on an alternative date. The rail service has also stated that customers seeking to change their reservations will not incur additional charges during this period of service disruption.
