Wildfire forces evacuations in a town in north-central Arizona

A brush fire in the town of Yarnell in north-central Arizona prompted evacuations on Monday afternoon. Residents living in the Yarnell Creek area and east of State Route 89 were instructed to leave their homes promptly. The specific number of people being evacuated is currently unknown. Authorities have not determined the cause of the brush fire, which spread quickly in the area. Yarnell, situated approximately 34 miles (54 kilometers) south of Prescott, is the location affected by the fire and evacuation orders.
