Verstappen Announces Baby Girl’s Birth Before Miami Grand Prix

Verstappen announces baby and Formula 1 welcomes a new little fan. Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet revealed the arrival of their first child together — a baby girl named Lily — just ahead of the Miami Grand Prix weekend.

The Red Bull driver missed Thursday’s media day, with the team confirming that he was absent because he was expecting his baby. Later, Verstappen officially shared the joyful news.

Verstappen Announces Baby Just In Time For Race Weekend

Red Bull broke the news first, telling fans that Verstappen would return to the track on Friday but was taking time to be with his family. Soon after, Verstappen and Piquet shared the birth of their daughter Lily, celebrating their new role as parents.

This marks the couple’s first child together. Piquet is already mom to daughter Penelope from a previous relationship, making Lily a new little sister.

Verstappen Joins Growing List Of F1 Fathers

By welcoming his daughter, Verstappen announces baby and joins Nico Hulkenberg as one of two current fathers on the Formula 1 grid. Hulkenberg, who shares daughter Noemi Sky with wife Egl? Ruskyte, offered lighthearted advice when asked about Verstappen’s big news.

“I hope it’s a good sleeper,” Hulkenberg joked. “It brings many beautiful things, and I’m sure he’ll enjoy every moment.”

Fellow F1 Stars Share Congratulations

During media day in Miami, other top drivers took time to congratulate Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton, who has battled Verstappen fiercely on track, expressed genuine happiness for the new dad.

“I just wish him all the best. It’s amazing. I spoke to him in Saudi and saw how excited he was,” Hamilton shared.

George Russell echoed those sentiments, highlighting how parenthood adds new joy. “It’s a special moment. We’re all professionals, but this is personal. I’m sure it brings so much happiness,” Russell said.

Verstappen’s New Role Won’t Change His Drive

While the paddock celebrated, many expect Verstappen’s competitive edge to remain sharp. Russell and Hamilton agreed that parenthood wouldn’t affect his on-track performance.

Drivers like Kimi Raikkonnen and Sebastian Vettel have famously won championships while raising young families, and Verstappen seems ready to follow in those footsteps.

With Lily’s arrival, Verstappen announces baby and begins a new chapter both on and off the track. Fans now await to see if fatherhood will inspire even more victories from the reigning World Champion.
