US Airstrikes obliterate ISIS targets in Syria amid ongoing chaos

Over 75 Targets Decimated in Major Operation

The United States has launched a devastating barrage of airstrikes against ISIS targets in central Syria, aiming to eradicate the terror group. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that “over 75 targets” were struck in the operation, employing advanced US Air Force weaponry to deliver a powerful blow to the group.

“Battle damage assessments are underway, and there are no indications of civilian casualties,” CENTCOM shared in a statement. The strikes targeted key ISIS leaders, operatives, and camps as part of a broader mission to dismantle the terror network’s operational capabilities.

Assad Flees Amid Rebel Gains

The strikes come as Syria’s beleaguered President Bashar al-Assad reportedly fled to Russia, with rebel forces gaining ground in the war-torn nation. Syria has been locked in a brutal civil war since 2011, leaving a power vacuum exploited by groups like ISIS.

CENTCOM emphasized its commitment to preventing ISIS from regrouping, stating, “These operations aim to disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS to ensure they cannot exploit the current situation in Syria.”

Firm Warning from US Command

General Michael Erik Kurilla of CENTCOM issued a stark warning to groups supporting ISIS: “There should be no doubt – we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute. All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they partner with or support ISIS in any way.”

Global Reactions to Assad’s Downfall

Responding to Assad’s apparent downfall, the US President hailed the moment as a “fundamental act of justice” while cautioning against the risks of instability as rebel forces consolidate control.

The collapse of Assad’s regime has sparked both hope and uncertainty for Syria’s future, as international forces continue their mission to prevent further chaos in the region.
