“Battle damage assessments are underway, and there are no indications of civilian casualties,” CENTCOM shared in a statement. The strikes targeted key ISIS leaders, operatives, and camps as part of a broader mission to dismantle the terror network’s operational capabilities.

The strikes come as Syria’s beleaguered President Bashar al-Assad reportedly fled to Russia, with rebel forces gaining ground in the war-torn nation. Syria has been locked in a brutal civil war since 2011, leaving a power vacuum exploited by groups like ISIS.

General Michael Erik Kurilla of CENTCOM issued a stark warning to groups supporting ISIS: “There should be no doubt – we will not allow ISIS to reconstitute. All organizations in Syria should know that we will hold them accountable if they partner with or support ISIS in any way.”
