Trump Blasts Judges Over Return of Alleged Gang Member

  • Trump defends the DOJ’s decision to bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia and criticizes activist judges.
  • Garcia faces federal charges for human smuggling and conspiracy tied to MS-13.
  • Court records and police footage contradict claims that Garcia is a peaceful family man.

President Donald Trump criticized the federal judges who helped bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States. He made strong comments while flying aboard Air Force One. Trump called Garcia “a bad guy” and said the American people would soon see “how horrible this guy is.” He did not hold back. Trump said, “Frankly, we have to do something because the judges are trying to take the place of a president that won in a landslide.” He believes some judges want to run the country and override the executive branch. Trump made it clear that he stands behind the Department of Justice and their decisions.

Trump Praises DOJ and Questions Judicial Power

President did not express concern over Garcia’s return. Instead, he showed full confidence in the Department of Justice. “The DOJ made a decision,” he said. “I think their decisions have been very, very good.” He hinted that the DOJ may have wanted to prove a point by bringing Garcia back. “Maybe they just said, ‘Look, all these people, these judges, they want to try and run the country.’” Trump argued that local judges should not have that much influence. He said bringing Garcia back might help show the public exactly who he is and what crimes he has committed. Trump’s message was clear: the executive branch needs to remain strong, and the courts should not try to take over that role.

Abrego Garcia Lived in Maryland Before Deportation

Authorities deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia in March. He had entered the U.S. illegally and lived in Maryland. Federal officials linked him to the MS-13 gang, a violent criminal group known for human trafficking and brutal crimes. The Trump administration moved him to a high-security prison in El Salvador. Trump and his team viewed him as a serious threat to public safety. The administration made public statements tying him to gang violence and illegal operations. They did not consider him a victim or a wrongly deported man, as some Democratic lawmakers claimed.

Democrats Defend Garcia and Demand His Return

Several Democrats quickly came to Garcia’s defense after his deportation. They argued he was a “Maryland man” who faced wrongful removal. Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland led the effort. He criticized the Trump administration for ignoring court orders and violating due process. When Garcia returned to U.S. soil, Van Hollen celebrated the news. He released a statement saying, “For months the Trump Administration flouted the Supreme Court and our Constitution. Today, they appear to have finally relented to our demands.” Democrats framed the case as a human rights issue. They pushed the narrative that Garcia deserved a fair trial and protection under U.S. law.

Federal Officials Charge Garcia With Smuggling Crimes

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that Garcia landed in the United States to face criminal charges. She said, “A grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee returned a sealed indictment charging him with alien smuggling and conspiracy.” The charges point to Garcia’s long-term involvement in a human smuggling network. Bondi said Garcia played a “significant role” in the operation, which lasted nearly a decade. The DOJ accused him of making more than 100 trips. He moved people across the border and into different U.S. cities. According to officials, he transported women, children, and known MS-13 members. Bondi called Garcia a full-time smuggler.

Police Video Shows Suspicious Traffic Stop in 2022

In 2022, Tennessee Highway Patrol officers stopped Garcia for speeding. Fox News Digital obtained the bodycam video from that stop. Officers found eight other men inside his vehicle. The footage raised red flags. “He’s hauling these people for money,” one trooper said during the stop. Police also found $1,400 in cash. They checked Garcia’s identity in the National Crime Information Center and got a gang/terrorism alert. Officers contacted ICE to take action, but ICE never responded. The incident revealed serious breakdowns in communication between state police and immigration authorities.

Court Records Show History of Domestic Violence

Democrats painted Garcia as a devoted family man. But court records from 2020 tell a different story. Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, filed a protective order against him in August 2020. She asked the court to protect their son and her stepchildren. She accused Garcia of physical abuse and verbal threats. The documents describe mental abuse toward the children as well. Her statement challenged the narrative that Garcia was a harmless or peaceful family man. These records supported claims that he posed a danger not just to the public but also to his own household.

Trump Urges Action and Warns of Future Judicial Overreach

Trump said the return of Garcia might actually help expose the truth. “I could see a decision being made, bring him back, show everybody how horrible this guy is,” he said. Trump made it clear that he wants the world to see the full case against Garcia. He used the moment to issue another warning. “Judges are trying to take the place of a president,” he said. Trump believes the courts should follow the law, not lead the country. He ended his remarks with a strong statement: “He’s a bad guy.”
