Travis Scott’s detention by French police continues following a confrontation with a hotel security guard in Paris

Rapper Travis Scott is currently in police custody after being arrested at a hotel in Paris following an altercation with a security guard, according to French prosecutors. The Paris prosecutor’s office has extended Scott’s custody order, and investigations are ongoing regarding the incident that led to his arrest.

Scott’s US representative and lawyer have not responded to inquiries about the situation. The arrest occurred early Friday at the Georges V hotel, where police were called to address the altercation between Scott and a security guard. The scuffle reportedly involved the rapper and his bodyguard.

A representative for Scott stated that they are in communication with Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve the matter and will provide updates as necessary. The representative chose to remain anonymous due to the ongoing investigation. Scott was in Paris to attend the Olympics and witnessed the United States’ victory over Serbia in the men’s basketball semifinal.

Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, is a prominent figure in the hip hop industry with over 100 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. He has achieved chart-topping success with singles like “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.” The rapper has two children with his former partner, media personality, and businesswoman Kylie Jenner.

This is not the first time Scott has had a run-in with the law. In June, he was arrested in Miami Beach on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and public intoxication after causing a disturbance at the city’s marina. Despite his legal troubles, Scott remains a highly successful artist in the music industry.
