Tommy Edman signs a five-year contract worth $74 million with the Dodgers following his contribution to the World Series victory.

Tommy Edman has finalized a five-year contract worth $74 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers, as confirmed on Friday.
This new agreement includes an option for the team for the 2030 season, effectively replacing the two-year deal valued at $16.5 million he had previously signed with the St. Louis Cardinals back in February, which would have seen him earning $9.5 million in 2025.

Edman joined the Dodgers after being traded from the Cardinals on July 29, in a deal that involved the Chicago White Sox.
Throughout his 37 games with Los Angeles, he recorded a batting average of .237, with six home runs and 20 runs batted in. His exceptional performance during the NL Championship Series earned him the MVP title, where he managed a stellar batting average of .407 and drove in 11 RBIs.
During the entire postseason, he hit .320, contributing two homers and 13 RBIs to help lead the Dodgers to a World Series championship.

At 29 years old, Edman is versatile on the field, playing second base, shortstop, and outfield.
Over the span of six seasons with the Cardinals and Dodgers, he has maintained a career batting average of .263, along with 59 home runs, 242 RBIs, and 112 stolen bases.
He was set to enter free agency following the conclusion of the 2025 World Series.
