Three individuals killed and two others wounded in tractor-trailer collision in Arizona

Three individuals lost their lives, and two sustained serious injuries in a collision near the Arizona-New Mexico border, as reported by authorities on Sunday. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 10 close to San Simon, a town in southeastern Arizona situated approximately 11 miles (17 kilometers) from the New Mexico border. The Arizona Department of Public Safety indicated that a tractor-trailer and another vehicle were involved in the crash.
Regrettably, three occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the crash site, while the two injured individuals were airlifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Following the collision, the semi-truck caught fire, although it remains unclear if the truck driver survived the impact. The Arizona DPS did not disclose the identities of the deceased and injured on Sunday, and the specific cause of the accident has not been determined.
In response to the crash, two lanes of Interstate 10 were shut down until early Sunday morning to allow authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
