Three individuals found dead in a Washington state house fire were also shot, possibly by the victim’s husband

Authorities in Concrete, Washington, are on the lookout for a suspect implicated in the deaths of three individuals who perished in a house fire following gunshot wounds at the beginning of this month. The Mount Vernon Police Department announced in a recent press release that an arrest warrant has been issued for 49-year-old Jason M. Birman on three counts of second-degree murder. Birman, who was residing in the house and was married to one of the victims, is being sought by police, who last week were searching for his 1994 blue Chevrolet pickup truck.

The victims of the tragic event that occurred on August 9 in Concrete have been identified as Erin Birman, 52, her son Taylor Dawson, 19, and Jillian Van Boven, 18, who was in a relationship with Dawson. The Skagit County Coroner’s Office reported that all three victims had gunshot wounds that contributed to their deaths. Responders were called to the scene of the fire on the morning of August 9, where the two-story residence was engulfed in flames, leading to days of recovery efforts to retrieve the bodies, according to law enforcement. A thorough investigation was conducted over six days by authorities from various agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Authorities suspect Jason Birman was present at the residence before the fire broke out and have been unable to locate him or his vehicle since the incident. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Mount Vernon police department. Concrete is situated approximately 96 miles northeast of Seattle.
