Texas Quarterback Ewers exits game due to suspected injury against UTSA as Manning steps in for Longhorns

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers exited the game against UTSA in the second quarter due to an apparent injury, leading to Arch Manning taking over for the No. 2 Longhorns. At the time of his departure, Texas was ahead 14-0. Ewers seemed to have been hurt after a handoff to Quintrevion Wisner, falling to the ground and requiring attention from the team’s medical staff. Despite eventually walking off the field, Ewers appeared uncomfortable as he was tended to by the staff and later sought treatment in the team medical tent. However, there was no immediate update provided by Texas officials regarding his condition.

In Ewers’ absence, Manning swiftly made an impact by throwing a 19-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore on his first play, followed by a 67-yard touchdown run on Texas’ subsequent possession. Prior to his injury, Ewers had completed 14 of 16 passes for 185 yards, including two touchdowns and one interception. It’s worth noting that Ewers had previously missed four games over the past two seasons due to injuries.
