Steve Serio and Nicky Nieves selected to carry the US flag at Paralympics opening ceremony

Former Paralympic gold medalists Steve Serio and Nicky Nieves have been selected as the flagbearers for Team USA at the upcoming Paralympics opening ceremony in Paris, as announced by the American Olympic and Paralympic committee on Friday. Serio, a key member of the U.S. wheelchair basketball team that claimed gold in both the 2016 and 2020 Paralympic Games, expressed his gratitude and honor for the opportunity, sharing his appreciation for his fellow American athletes. He currently serves as co-captain of the 2024 team alongside Trevon Jenifer. On the other hand, Nieves played a pivotal role in Team USA securing its first gold in sitting volleyball in 2016, emphasizing the pride and significance of representing her country at the prestigious event.
