Spring break chaos erupts in Florida as beach boxing matches break out in massive crowds

The Fort Lauderdale mayor enthusiastically embraced the arrival of spring break ahead of the annual March festivities, drawing throngs of partygoers to the city’s beaches, according to Fox News.

Drone footage captured by The U.S. Sun showcased bustling crowds of college students sprawled across the sandy shores, engaging in spirited activities like beach boxing matches complete with gloves, a referee, and an enthusiastic audience.

According to city police and the mayor’s chief of staff, the first week of festivities was deemed a success, with minimal criminal activity noted. However, they anticipate a more challenging weekend ahead, coinciding with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

“Our spring break crowds have met our expectations thus far, with this week proving to be the busiest,” stated Casey Liening, spokesperson for the Fort Lauderdale police. “We have not encountered any significant issues or disruptions.”

A viral video depicting a chaotic altercation allegedly on a Fort Lauderdale beach circulated widely on social media, sparking sensationalized reports. However, both police and city officials refuted these claims, citing discrepancies such as the presence of a pier in the background, which Fort Lauderdale’s beaches lack.

“In general, our officers are actively dispersing any observed crowds,” affirmed the Fort Lauderdale police spokesperson in correspondence with Fox News Digital.

Meanwhile, Miami Beach implemented stringent measures during the initial week of “March madness,” resulting in a notably peaceful opening weekend, as reported by local media outlets.

Following last year’s tumultuous events, including fatal shootings, hundreds of arrests, and firearm seizures, Miami Beach authorities took decisive action to maintain order and security.
