Snow White: UK Mom Names Daughter After Disney Princess

Lisa Morphy, a mother from the UK, gave her daughter a name that stands out: Snow White. The name, inspired by the famous Disney princess, has caused many people to raise their eyebrows. While Lisa and her family love the name, it has drawn mixed reactions from others.

Lisa had already raised three sons and always dreamed of having a little girl. When she finally had the chance, Lisa let her son Teddy choose the name. Teddy picked Snow White, and Lisa thought it was a beautiful choice. “We knew she’d be our little princess,” Lisa said. The family was thrilled with their daughter’s name and loved the idea of raising a little girl with such a magical name.

Name Confronts Criticism from Strangers

Although Lisa’s family adores Snow White’s name, not everyone feels the same way. Lisa shared that she often faces criticism when she calls her daughter by the name in public. “When we go to the airport or other public places, people sometimes turn around or whisper when they hear it,” Lisa explained. This reaction from strangers can make things difficult for Lisa and her family. She has received many warnings and negative comments from people who think the name is too unusual. “Everyone thought I was crazy,” she confessed. But Lisa stands by her choice. “I don’t care what others think,” she said firmly.

Her Family supports the name, But Some Concerns

While Lisa is confident in her decision, not everyone in her family shares the same excitement. Her parents and in-laws were initially concerned about the name. They worried that Snow White might face bullying or be teased by other children. “The older generation didn’t really get it,” Lisa explained. However, Snow White is unfazed by her unique name. “She loves it,” Lisa said. “If people call her Snow, she corrects them and proudly tells them she’s a princess.”

Raising a Confident Little Princess

Lisa and her family have made sure that Snow White grows up feeling proud of her name. “We’ve raised her to be confident and to embrace her uniqueness,” Lisa said. Snow White is already acting like a true princess, even in a house full of boys. “She makes her 16-year-old brother, William, carry her down the stairs every morning,” Lisa shared with a laugh. Snow White’s family is full of love and support for her, and they want her to always be proud of who she is.

A Magical Bedroom and Love for the Movie

To make her name even more special, Lisa has created a Snow White-themed bedroom for her daughter. The room is filled with items from the fairytale, and she has a collection of princess costumes to wear. Lisa even took Snow White to see the new live-action “Snow White” movie. Despite the movie receiving negative reviews and being labeled a flop, Snow White is excited to watch it again. “She knows her name is real, not just a fairytale,” Lisa said proudly.
