The popular workplace communications tool, Slack, suffered a service disruption on Wednesday morning, affecting numerous users who reported issues with accessing the platform. The company, which is headquartered in San Francisco, announced it was actively investigating the connectivity problems and difficulties encountered when loading Slack.
According to Slack’s posted update, a range of API endpoints—along with message sending, receiving, and some thread loading—were identified as experiencing issues. Slack assured users that updates regarding the ongoing service restoration would be available through their status webpage.
The outage reached a point where over 3,000 individuals noted they were unable to use the platform, as tracked by the monitoring site DownDetector. However, services including group and direct messaging and features like emoticon reactions seemed to be progressively coming back online by mid-morning on the same day.
