Sensation: Kamala Harris would beat Donald Trump in the Presidential Race for the first time with 49 to 47 %

This is a big surprise in the midst of the turbulent discussion about whether Joe Biden should step down as the Democratic nominee: In a new poll by IPSOS for ABC News, Vice President Kamala Harris takes the lead in a potential race for President against Donald Trump.

According to IPSOS, Kamala Harris would receive 49% of the vote compared to 47% for Donald Trump. For the first time, the female Vice President and potential ‘heir’ to Joe Biden has taken the lead over Donald Trump – particularly with female and young voters.

The major issue for Kamala Harris is her very negative approval rating in her current role:

Only 39% of all Americans approve of her performance as Vice President, while 52% disapprove of her role in the White House.

Her approval rating is therefore nearly the same as that of the President: Only 39% of US voters approve of Joe Biden’s policies, while 59% disapprove of how he is handling the White House.
