Rapper Lil Baby apprehended in Las Vegas for suspected concealed weapon violation

Rapper Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The incident occurred on the Las Vegas Strip just before dawn on Monday, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Specific details regarding the circumstances leading to the arrest were not immediately disclosed.

Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby, was represented by attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, who issued a joint statement expressing their active investigation into the reasons behind the arrest of the 29-year-old rapper. They indicated that Jones possessed a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon in Georgia.

According to court records, Lil Baby, known for his Grammy Award-winning album “My Turn” and hits like “The Bigger Picture” and “Yes Indeed,” was released from custody after posting bond. Although he has yet to face formal charges for the felony offense in Nevada, he is scheduled to appear in a Las Vegas court on October 1.

“The Bigger Picture” by Lil Baby addresses issues such as the killing of George Floyd and police abuse, reaching the No. 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His music has garnered significant acclaim, earning him accolades like Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the 2021 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the 2020 Apple Music Awards.
