Quincy Hall made a remarkable comeback in the 400 meters race at the Paris Olympics, capturing the gold medal by overtaking three runners in the final stretch with a time of 43.40 seconds. Hall’s victory marked the first American gold in the 400 meters since 2008. Celebrating his win, Hall dropped to the track to do snow angels. In other events on Day 12 of the Paris Olympics, Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco defended his title in the men’s steeplechase, narrowly beating American Kenneth Rooks. Hampton Morris earned the first Olympic weightlifting medal for a U.S. male athlete in four decades by winning bronze in the 61-kilogram division. Men’s artistic swimming may see inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics with consideration for a mixed duet team event. Noah Lyles advanced to the final of the 200 meters, setting up a race for the gold medal on Thursday.
