Popular writer Brendan DuBois charged with holding materials related to child sexual abuse

BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A renowned mystery novelist, arrested in New Hampshire this summer for alleged possession of materials related to child sexual abuse, has recently been charged with six felony counts.
A grand jury in Rockingham County issued the indictments against Brendan DuBois, who has been in custody since he voluntarily surrendered to the Exeter police in July, as indicated by court records. DuBois, 65 years old, has yet to receive a response from his attorney regarding requests for comments about the case.
His arraignment is scheduled for October 23.
DuBois is recognized as a bestselling author, having penned 29 novels as stated on his personal website, and collaborated with the notable writer James Patterson on several works, such as “Cross Down,” “Count Down,” “The Summer House,” and “Blowback.”
In light of the serious allegations, Severn River Publishing has declared the removal of his works from its online platform. Following his arrest, the company announced their decision to halt all promotion and sales of DuBois’ books while respecting the ongoing legal proceedings.
