In Huntsville, Alabama, a man named Naimmikal Wayne Sanders, 38, from Decatur was fatally shot by police after allegedly firing a weapon at a woman trying to escape, according to state officials. The incident took place when officers responded to a domestic violence report. The State Bureau of Investigation of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that Sanders fired at the woman, prompting an officer to return fire, resulting in the suspect’s death. Sanders was declared dead at the site of the incident. Following a request from the Huntsville Police Department, the state agency is conducting a review of the shooting. The outcome will be presented to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office for further action.
