Panic? Harry and Meghan’s efforts to return to the UK amid Trump’s potential victory

Recent reports suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan’s purchase of a property in Portugal may be tied to concerns over Donald Trump’s return to the White House. After being evicted from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles, the couple’s move could serve as an escape route should Trump win the presidency again. Sources reveal that the Sussexes are making “desperate” efforts to reconcile with the royal family, hoping to ease tensions that have worsened due to past Trump family comments.

The Trump family’s remarks and potential deportation fears

Eric Trump recently made critical remarks about the couple, echoing his father’s claim that Harry could face deportation if the Republicans succeed in the election. Trump has long suggested that Harry may be denied special privileges, especially after revealing his past drug use, which could affect his visa status in the U.S. A conservative think-tank even sought to obtain Harry’s immigration records, hoping to challenge his visa approval. The ongoing legal battles and tension with the Trumps have led to concerns for Harry’s future in the U.S.

Meghan’s motivations and potential new beginnings in Portugal

While the couple’s reconciliation with the royal family remains uncertain, Harry and Meghan’s move to Portugal could offer a fresh start, with the possibility of securing a ‘golden visa’ that provides access to the Schengen Area. This move aligns with Meghan’s previous interest in acquiring British citizenship before their departure in 2020. Should life in California become untenable, their new European base may allow them to expand their global influence, particularly through potential ‘rival royal’ tours in countries like Nigeria and Colombia.
