Packers struggle against elite teams in 2024 playoffs

The Green Bay Packers ended their season with a 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, marking their sixth defeat against teams finishing four games over .500. Despite an 11-1 record against other opponents, Green Bay’s inability to compete with top-tier teams defined their season.

Rookie safety Javon Bullard highlighted the need to overcome elite teams, stating, “To be an elite team, you have to beat an elite team, and we ain’t do that.” This sentiment was echoed by other players as they reflected on missed opportunities.

Lackluster playoff performance underscores issues

Green Bay’s Wild Card exit showcased their struggles, including quarterback Jordan Love’s difficulties against a strong Eagles defense. The game underscored their need for improvement against high-caliber opponents.

Tight end Tucker Kraft urged the team to “wake up,” noting, “This is just the beginning of a long road to next year.” With a young roster and evident potential, the Packers aim to use this season as a stepping stone.

Green Bay’s road ahead

The Packers are set to build on their youthful core and address gaps in performance against top teams. As they move into the offseason, their focus will be on turning potential into consistency against the NFL’s best.
