According to a Times of Israel report, former President Donald Trump has urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the Israel-Hamas conflict by January if he takes office. The report cites an anonymous source who revealed that Trump relayed this message to Netanyahu during a July meeting at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump, who has voiced support for Israel’s actions against Iranian nuclear sites, has mentioned his desire to resolve the conflict but had not previously attached a timeline. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris, his opponent in the upcoming election, has largely echoed the Biden administration’s supportive stance on Israel, though she has criticized the recent escalation in Lebanon and urged for de-escalation.
At a recent CNN town hall, Harris avoided giving a direct answer on her stance relative to Israel, instead focusing on her concerns about Trump’s leadership.
