Officials probe the death of an airman stationed in New Mexico

An investigation is underway regarding the death of 28-year-old Staff Sgt. Tristen Wright, an airman stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. The U.S. Department of Defense revealed that Wright passed away on Friday in a non-combat incident at a location that has not been disclosed. Specific details about the incident have not been made public as of Sunday.
Hailing from Palm Bay, Florida, Wright was a part of the 27th Special Operations Wing at Cannon. He joined the military in August 2016 and served as a materiel management specialist at Cannon since 2019. Prior to his assignment at Cannon, he was stationed at the 18th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Kadena Air Force Base in Japan in 2017.
