North Korea sends balloons possibly containing rubbish towards South Korea

South Korea’s military has reported that North Korea recently launched balloons believed to be carrying waste in the direction of South Korea. The balloons were spotted flying north of Seoul, approximately an hour’s drive from the border, on Thursday afternoon. North Korea’s actions are seen as a potential response to South Korean civilian leafleting campaigns that have been ongoing, as North Korea previously stated its intention to react to these activities.
