Far-right internet personality Nick Fuentes says he was the target of an armed assailant who appeared at his Berwyn, Illinois home late Wednesday night.
Triple murder suspect killed in police shootout nearby
Authorities confirmed that the suspect, who was fatally shot by police after firing at officers, was linked to the earlier murder of three family members in Mahomet, Illinois, roughly 140 miles south of Berwyn. The victims—Sara Mason, 26, Janis Mason, 61, and Caleb Mason, 23—were all members of the same family, though police have not revealed any connection between the suspect and Fuentes.
The suspect, armed with a pistol and crossbow, reportedly broke into a neighboring house, killed two dogs, and later confronted police before being shot and killed.
Fuentes shares video of armed man at his door
Fuentes shared a video on social media that appears to show an armed man at his doorstep carrying a gun and crossbow. In the clip, the man sets down the crossbow, rings the doorbell, and calls out, “Yo, Nick!” before leaving. Fuentes claimed he was livestreaming during the incident.
Fuentes wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that the suspect intended to kill him:
“Last night an armed killer made an attempt on my life at my home, which was recently doxed on this platform. He carried a pistol, crossbow, and incendiary devices. I believe he intended to kill me. He is now dead. I am okay!”
Fuentes responds to doxing
The self-described America First activist suggested the attack was connected to his recent doxing, which exposed his home address after he posted controversial statements online. Last month, social media activist Marla Rose confronted Fuentes at his home, leading to an altercation in which Fuentes allegedly pepper-sprayed her. He was later arrested and charged with battery, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
Fuentes said he plans to move after this incident, adding, “Doxing is not a game.”
Controversial figure with a history of inflammatory rhetoric
Known for his extremist, antisemitic, and misogynistic views, Fuentes rose to prominence through his America First Political Action Conference. He gained national attention after attending a Mar-a-Lago dinner with Kanye West and Donald Trump in 2022.
Illinois State Police and Berwyn authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
