DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — A tragic collision between two buses in a remote northern region of Tanzania led to a devastating number of casualties as authorities reported. In the catastrophic accident, at least 37 individuals lost their lives, while around 30 others sustained injuries.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan conveyed profound condolences in light of the harrowing incident, which took place on Saturday evening in the Sabasaba area on the Moshi–Tanga highway, located within the Kilimanjaro region. The specifics surrounding the identities and nationalities of the victims were yet to be clarified at the time of reporting.
Expressing her sympathies, President Hassan extended her heartfelt condolences to Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Nurdin Babu, as well as to the families, friends, and relatives directly impacted by the tragedy. “May God grant peace to the souls of the departed and bestow a swift recovery upon the injured. May He offer comfort and strength to their families during this trying period,” Hassan stated.
