SEATTLE – Aliyah Boston shined with a career-high 31 points, and Kelsey Mitchell contributed 26 points, including five successful 3-point shots, leading the Indiana Fever to a 94-86 triumph over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.
Caitlin Clark had an off-night with just six points, struggling with her shooting by missing all six of her 3-point attempts and going 3 for 13 from the field. Boston had previously hit a career-best of 30 points against the Atlanta Dream on September 8, 2024, and had also put up 26 points in her last meeting against the Las Vegas Aces.
The collaborative efforts of Mitchell and Boston were vital during a commanding third quarter for Indiana (7-7), outscoring Seattle (9-6) 30-19. Mitchell tallied seven points in the quarter while Boston added eight, helping secure a lead the Storm could not surmount, despite a late surge.
Supporting players Lexie Hull and Damiris Dantas scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, bolstering Indiana’s comprehensive team performance, especially noteworthy given Clark’s ongoing 3-point shooting woes, having made only 1 of her last 23 attempts.
Skylar Diggins led Seattle with 22 points, helping the Storm initially dictate the game’s tempo, holding an 18-12 lead after forward Ezi Magbegor’s three-point play with 3:52 remaining in the first quarter. However, the first half momentum shifted in favor of the Fever.
Mitchell extended Indiana’s lead with a timely 3-pointer at the 58.1-second mark of the second quarter, propelling the Fever to a 45-39 advantage at halftime, despite Clark’s quiet outing of two points in the first half.
Indiana managed to maintain control, ensuring the collection of Seattle celebrities, such as Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Isaiah Thomas, and Lenny Wilkens in attendance, left without much to cheer about.
Looking ahead, the Fever will host the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, while the Seattle Storm prepare to welcome Connecticut on Friday.
