New York Yankees pitcher Marcus Stroman faced a challenging outing as he continued his injury rehabilitation with the Double-A Somerset Patriots. On Tuesday, Stroman pitched against the Erie Seawolves, the Detroit Tigers’ affiliate, in an Eastern League matchup. Unfortunately, Stroman allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks over the course of 3 2/3 innings.

During his stint on the mound, Stroman managed to throw 41 of his 65 pitches for strikes. This marked his third appearance for the Somerset Patriots during his rehab process. Across these outings, Stroman has accumulated a 6.97 ERA, while striking out nine batters and issuing five walks over 10 1/3 innings of work.

The 34-year-old right-hander has been dealing with inflammation in his left knee, which has kept him out of major league action since April 11. At the start of the season, he struggled for the Yankees, posting an 0-1 record with an 11.57 ERA.

In the game against Erie, Stroman faced some tough moments. In the first inning, he surrendered an RBI double to Jake Holton. Holton struck again with another RBI double in the third inning. Later in that same inning, Chris Meyers hit a two-run double before scoring on a single from Justice Bigbie.
