BALTIMORE — The Texas Rangers have made a roster adjustment by recalling right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning from their Triple-A affiliate, Round Rock, on Monday. This decision came after reliever Caleb Boushley was sent down to the minors.

The change was announced prior to the start of a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, following a taxing outing for Boushley. The day before, he delivered 72 pitches while facing the Pittsburgh Pirates, conceding five runs on 10 hits over four innings in an 8-3 defeat. Earlier in the week, Boushley had a more efficient outing, retiring all 10 Kansas City batters he faced over 3 1/3 innings in a 6-1 home loss. Throughout this season, Boushley has participated in 15 games with the Rangers, posting a 5.04 ERA during his two tenures.

Dunning, a seasoned pitcher for the Rangers, has begun 95 games across the past four years. This year, he has mostly been seen in a relief role, appearing in 16 of the 27 games he has played for Texas since last season’s opening. His brief 2023 Major League stint in April ended when he was designated for assignment before being outrighted to Round Rock. The 30-year-old Dunning holds a career record of 26-32 with a 4.39 ERA across 118 games for the Rangers.
