RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Hurricanes have secured the services of forward Eric Robinson with a new four-year contract valued at $6.8 million. General Manager Eric Tulsky confirmed the signing on Friday, stating that Robinson will have a $1.7 million salary cap hit each year through to the 2028-29 NHL season.
Robinson, originally from Bellmawr, New Jersey, enjoyed a standout season with the Hurricanes, achieving personal bests of 14 goals, 18 assists, and a total of 32 points. This performance came after joining the team as a free agent. Additionally, Robinson contributed three points during the playoffs as the Hurricanes advanced to the Eastern Conference final before losing to the eventual champions, the Florida Panthers.
Tulsky praised Robinson’s performance, stating, “It’s no surprise to us that Eric had his best professional season last year with Carolina. His size and speed make him an excellent fit for the way we want to play.” The Hurricanes have been a consistent playoff contender, reaching the postseason for seven consecutive years under the leadership of coach Rod Brind’Amour.
Robinson, who is 30 years old, has amassed experience across 413 NHL regular-season and playoff games, having played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, and the Hurricanes since he began his NHL career in 2018. His only other playoff experience came with Columbus during the 2020 bubble season.
