Joaquin Niemann from Chile emerged victorious in the LIV Golf event held in Virginia, marking his fourth triumph in the Saudi-backed tour’s opening eight events this season. Niemann delivered a spectacular finish with an 8-under 63, outpacing competitors Graeme McDowell and Anirban Lahiri by a slender margin of one stroke.

Niemann managed to secure his lead by breaking ahead of a tightly contested leaderboard, notching birdies on holes 14 through 17. He then concluded with a steady par on the par-4 18th hole, ending the tournament at 15-under par 198 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

Savoring his continued success, the 26-year-old expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the significant achievement. This win adds to his growing tally of accolades, having already secured victories this year in Australia, Singapore, and Mexico, bringing his total LIV tour victories to six, alongside two earlier wins on the PGA Tour.

McDowell posted a commendable 66, while Lahiri, who led after the second round, carded a 68. Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau, in preparation for defending his U.S. Open title at Oakmont, delivered a robust performance with a 65, tying for fourth place alongside Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson, who finished at 13 under par after respective rounds of 65 and 67.

Jon Rahm ended the tournament with a score of 10 under after shooting a 68. The Crushers team, led by DeChambeau and Lahiri, celebrated their second consecutive team title and an overall eighth victory, with Paul Casey and Charles Howell III completing the team lineup. DeChambeau praised their team dynamic, describing it as formidable.

A highlight of the day included Mickelson executing an impressive backward chip shot from a steep slope within the greenside rough for a birdie towards the end of his round. Reflecting on the shot, Mickelson acknowledged it as one of his finest, while DeChambeau marveled at the mastery of the shot, likening it to classic Mickelson brilliance.
