Lingr’s Last-Minute Goal Secures 2-2 Draw for Dynamo

    HOUSTON — Ond?ej Lingr made an impressive entrance into Major League Soccer, finding the back of the net in the sixth minute of added time to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw for the Houston Dynamo against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night.

    Lingr, a recent signing for the Dynamo (1-4-4) who joined the team on March 28, made his mark by outmaneuvering defender Andreas Maxsø and connecting with a well-placed header into the net’s side. His goal capped off a thrilling match for the home side.

    Houston took the lead in the 42nd minute when Amine Bassi smashed in a one-touch shot following an assist by Sebastian Kowalczyk. This initial advantage offered the Dynamo an opportunity to control the tempo.

    However, Colorado (4-2-3) responded swiftly after the break. Djordje Mihailovic leveled the score from the penalty spot in the 48th minute. The Rapids then took the lead when Rafael Navarro capitalized on a Dynamo defensive error. He expertly latched onto a through ball from Mihailovic, broke through two defenders, and sent a low shot past goalkeeper Jonathan Bond in the 77th minute.

    Throughout the match, the Dynamo dominated possession with 59% and led in shots 15-13, including an 8-3 advantage in shots on target.

    For Colorado, goalkeeper Zack Steffen was pivotal, making six crucial saves to keep his team in contention. On the other hand, Jonathan Bond finished the night with a solitary save for the Dynamo.
