Seattle fire authorities are currently investigating a blaze that broke out late Sunday, resulting in damage to four Tesla Cybertrucks stored in a parking area in the city’s industrial district. Although the fire caused damage to the vehicles, no individuals were harmed in the incident. The initial emergency call reporting the fire was received at 11:13 p.m. on Sunday, according to Seattle Fire spokesperson, David Cuerpo.
Tesla has experienced various forms of protests and acts of vandalism across the United States and globally, particularly since CEO Elon Musk became actively involved with the administration of former President Donald Trump. Protests have centered around Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been undertaking efforts to significantly reduce the federal government’s size through extensive layoffs, cancellations of federal contracts, and similar measures.
In related incidents, Oregon police are collaborating with the FBI to probe recent gunfire targeting a Tesla dealership. This follows a separate case where federal prosecutors in Denver took legal action against a woman accused of attacking a Tesla dealership in Colorado. The charges include acts of vandalism such as throwing Molotov cocktails at vehicles and writing derogatory slogans like “Nazi cars” on the building’s walls.
