In an impressive display of basketball skills, Chibuzo Agbo delivered a standout performance by scoring 26 points on an efficient 9-for-12 shooting night as USC overpowered Washington, securing a 92-61 victory on Wednesday night. Agbo matched his personal best with seven successful three-pointers, completing 10 attempts.
Desmond Claude contributed significantly to the Trojans’ success with a double-double, amassing 25 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Additionally, Rashaun Agee was instrumental in the first half, scoring 13 of his total 18 points during this period.
USC’s shooting was remarkable, finishing the first half with an 18-for-32 (58%) field goal performance and an impressive 9 for 13 (69%) conversion rate from beyond the arc. Opting not to relent post-intermission, the Trojans completed the game with a 31 for 55 (56%) shooting tally and converted 15 of 26 attempts from three-point range, tying their season-high. Their free-throw efficiency was also notable, sinking 15 of 16 shots (94%).
Washington had noteworthy performances from Mekhi Mason, who scored 14 of his 19 points before halftime, with Great Osobor and DJ Davis adding 17 and 13 points, respectively. Despite an early dunk from Osobor giving Washington a brief 12-11 lead, USC quickly turned the tide following a three-pointer from Claude, launching into a dominant 18-4 run over nearly seven minutes. Agee’s three-pointer extended USC’s lead to 24-13 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half, ensuring a 47-35 halftime advantage.
The defeat means Washington, with a record of 13-17 and 4-15 in conference play, will not advance in the 15-team Big Ten Conference Tournament. In contrast, USC, alongside Nebraska, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Rutgers, is tied for the concluding five spots, all with conference records of 7-12.
The regular season will wrap up with USC facing UCLA on Saturday, while Washington will conclude their season at home against Oregon on Sunday.
