ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic have announced that Jalen Suggs is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery to eliminate a piece of cartilage from his left knee. This procedure is in response to a recent medical diagnosis that revealed a trochlea injury, identified while Suggs experienced discomfort during his recovery from a previously bruised left quadriceps.

As of now, the Magic have not set a specific timeline for Suggs’ return to the court. They plan to assess his progress following surgery as he begins post-operative treatment and rehabilitation. Suggs has been an integral player for the team, averaging 16.2 points this season. However, his participation has been limited to 35 games thus far, with only one game after January 4.

Suggs faced various physical setbacks throughout the season, including missing ten games in January due to a low back strain. His last appearance on the court dates back to January 25. This unfortunate series of injuries has also impacted the Magic’s strategy, as Suggs, alongside key Orlando players Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, has only participated in six games together during this season.
