The current Heisman Trophy holder has showcased his talents in both the cornerback and wide receiver positions while playing for Colorado, and there is potential for him to do the same in the NFL.
During a media briefing, Hunter expressed that the decision of his primary role will rest with the NFL team that drafts him. However, he remains hopeful that he will be given opportunities to play on both offense and defense. Despite his versatility, Hunter is clear about one aspect of his professional career: he does not intend to take on the responsibilities of returning kicks or punts, noting that his focus will remain on excelling as both a receiver and a defender.
Deion Sanders, the coach at Colorado and Hunter’s advocate, has been vocal in encouraging teams to draft Hunter only if they plan to utilize him in both capacities, as a cornerback and a wide receiver.
