Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has come forward with a new statement addressing accusations of inappropriate behavior during professional bodywork treatments, and he has expressed sincere apologies.
“I am deeply saddened to think that anyone I worked with may not have felt respected and valued, as both a professional and as a person. To anyone who felt that way, I truly apologize,” Tucker stated, as conveyed through his publicist. “I am committed to ensuring that everyone I engage with feels my respect and care for them as human beings.”
Reports have emerged from The Baltimore Banner, indicating that 16 massage therapists from eight different spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area have accused Tucker of inappropriate sexual conduct. This development has prompted Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta to label the allegations as “serious” and “concerning,” and the NFL has initiated an investigation.
In response to these accusations surfacing publicly last month, the five-time All-Pro kicker initially issued a statement asserting that he has never received any complaints from massage therapists or been notified that he was not welcome at any spa or similar establishment.
In the latest statement released on Wednesday, Tucker described the allegations as “shocking and heart-breaking.”
“I maintain that I have never acted inappropriately at any time before, during, or after a professional bodywork session, nor have I ever been informed that I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider,” Tucker emphasized. “These allegations are simply false. Over the past four weeks, I have meticulously re-evaluated every interaction I’ve had with bodywork professionals in the past thirteen years and I assure those reading this that I have never had any intention to disrespect anyone, cross any boundary, or cause any discomfort.”
