Hackman, alongside his wife Betsy Arakawa and their pet dog, was discovered deceased at his residence in New Mexico, as reported by authorities on Thursday.

    Coppola shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, stating, “The world has lost a great artist, a cause for both mourning and celebration: Gene Hackman, a remarkable actor whose work and complexity were inspiring and magnificent. I mourn his loss and celebrate his existence and contributions.”

    Another figure in the film industry, director Edgar Wright, shared a sentiment on social media, describing Hackman simply as “the greatest.”

    Director Paul Feig also expressed his sorrow and his admiration for Hackman’s work, particularly praising his performance in ‘The Conversation’ as a game-changer for actors everywhere.
