South Alabama Triumphs 88-82 Against Southern Miss

    HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Judah Brown played a critical role in leading South Alabama to a victory over Southern Miss with a final score of 88-82 on Wednesday evening.

    Brown contributed significantly with 18 points and collected six rebounds for the Jaguars, pushing their record to 20-10 overall, with a 12-5 standing in the Sun Belt Conference. Teammate Dylan Fasoyiro impressed by scoring 16 points, making five out of eight attempts from the field, which included hitting four out of six shots from the three-point line and two out of three free throws.

    Barry Dunning Jr. added to the Jaguars’ performance by scoring 14 points, shooting six for 14 from the field, including two for five from long range, and also grabbing 11 rebounds.

    On the opposing side, the Golden Eagles, with a 10-20 record and struggling at 5-12 in the conference, saw standout performances from Denijay Harris, who led his team with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Cobie Montgomery contributed 21 points, while Alfred Worrell Jr. added 10 points alongside two steals.
    This defeat marks the seventh consecutive loss for Southern Miss.
    LOOKING AHEAD
    The regular season is set to conclude on Friday, as South Alabama, currently in a three-way tie for second place, hosts Louisiana with an 8-9 record. Meanwhile, Southern Miss is scheduled to face Troy, holding a 12-5 record, in their home court.
