    HATTIESBURG, Miss. — In a hard-fought game on Wednesday night, Judah Brown scored 18 points to lead South Alabama to an 88-82 victory over Southern Miss. Brown not only demonstrated his scoring prowess but also contributed six rebounds for the Jaguars, who now boast a record of 20-10 overall and 12-5 in the Sun Belt Conference.

    Dylan Fasoyiro put up an impressive performance, adding 16 points by shooting 5 of 8 from the field, including an efficient 4 for 6 from three-point territory, and making 2 of his 3 free throw attempts. Barry Dunning Jr. also played a pivotal role, securing 14 points while shooting 6 for 14 from the floor, and nailing 2 out of 5 three-point shots. He also pulled down 11 rebounds.
    For Southern Miss, which has now lost seven consecutive games, Denijay Harris was the top scorer. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Cobie Montgomery also made substantial contributions with 21 points. Alfred Worrell Jr. chipped in with 10 points and showcased his defensive skills with two steals. The Golden Eagles now stand at 10-20 overall, with a conference record of 5-12.
    Looking ahead, both teams will conclude their regular season on Friday. South Alabama, engaged in a tie for second place within the conference, will host Louisiana, who holds an 8-9 conference record. Meanwhile, Southern Miss is set to face off at home against Troy, a team with a 12-5 conference record.
