Baltimore Ravens’ kicker Justin Tucker has addressed recent allegations, issuing a statement to affirm that he did not engage in any inappropriate behavior during professional bodywork sessions, while also offering an apology.
“I am deeply troubled by the idea that anyone I’ve worked with might not feel respected and valued as both a professional and a person,” Tucker expressed through a statement released by a publicist. “To anyone who feels otherwise, I extend my sincerest apologies. My commitment remains to ensure that everyone I interact with knows I respect and care about them as human beings.”
According to reports by The Baltimore Banner, 16 massage therapists across eight spa and wellness centers in the Baltimore vicinity have accused Tucker of inappropriate sexual conduct. Eric DeCosta, the Ravens’ general manager, has labeled the allegations as “serious” and “concerning,” and the NFL has initiated an investigation into the matter.
When the accusations first surfaced late last month, Tucker, a five-time All-Pro, responded by stating he had never received complaints from massage therapists or been informed he was unwelcome at any spa or similar establishments.
In his recent statement, Tucker described the allegations as “shocking and heart-breaking.” “I stand by my assertion that I did not act inappropriately at any time before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment,” Tucker reiterated. “Nor have I ever been notified that I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider. These allegations are simply untrue.”
Over the past four weeks, Tucker has dedicated significant time to reflecting on his interactions with bodywork professionals spanning the last thirteen years. He reassures those concerned that he has never intended to show disrespect, cross boundaries, or cause discomfort in any way.
