Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has come forward with a new statement asserting his innocence regarding recent accusations of inappropriate behavior during professional bodywork treatments. In addition to defending his actions, Tucker also expressed remorse.
“It’s incredibly upsetting to know that anyone I have interacted with might not have felt respected or valued both professionally and personally,” Tucker mentioned in the statement released by his publicist. “To those who have felt differently, I sincerely apologize. It’s important to me that everyone I interact with knows they are respected and cared about as individuals.”
Recently, a report emerged claiming that 16 massage therapists from various spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore region have accused Tucker of inappropriate sexual conduct. The situation has been described as “serious” and “concerning” by Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta, and the NFL is reportedly conducting an investigation.
Following the public disclosure of these accusations late last month, Tucker, a five-time All-Pro, had previously issued a statement asserting he had never received any complaints from massage therapists nor had he been advised that he was unwelcome at any spa or wellness establishment.
In his recent statement, Tucker labeled the accusations as “shocking and heart-breaking.”
“I firmly stand by my belief that I did not behave in any inappropriate manner during or after a professional bodywork session and have never been regarded as unwelcome by any massage therapy provider,” Tucker clarified. “These claims are unequivocally false. Over the past four weeks, I have deeply reflected on every interaction I’ve had with bodywork professionals over the past thirteen years. I can confidently assure those reading this statement that it was never my intention to disrespect anyone, violate any boundaries, or make anyone uncomfortable in any way.”
