    CHICAGO — Jayden Dawson made a significant contribution with 16 points, guiding Loyola Chicago to a decisive 77-57 victory over George Washington on Wednesday night.

    Dawson’s performance included shooting 5 for 14 overall, impressively hitting 4 out of 9 attempts from beyond the arc. He also added 2 of 3 from the free-throw line, playing a key role for the Ramblers, who now boast a record of 19-9, with 10-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Alongside him, Francis Nwaokorie notched 12 points while demonstrating precision with a flawless 4 of 4 from three-point range, and he also contributed eight rebounds. Jalen Quinn was efficient as well, with a shooting performance of 5 of 6 from the field and 2 for 3 from the line, ending with 12 points.

    On the George Washington side, the Revolutionaries, with an 18-11 season and 7-9 in the conference, had their top scorer in Rafael Castro. He delivered 18 points, coupled with eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to challenge Loyola Chicago’s dominance.

    Loyola Chicago seized control of the game early, taking the lead 15:05 into the first half and maintaining it throughout. Dawson was influential with nine points in the opening half, helping to secure a 41-26 lead by halftime. The Ramblers further extended their advantage during the second half, reaching a 75-45 lead largely due to an impressive 10-0 scoring streak. Dawson continued to shine with a team-high seven points in the latter half.

    The upcoming schedule sees both teams back in action on Saturday. Loyola Chicago is set to visit Saint Louis, while George Washington will host La Salle.
