Johnson leads FGCU to 80-61 victory over Bellarmine

    FORT MYERS, Fla. — In a commanding performance on Wednesday night, Florida Gulf Coast University wrapped up their regular season with an impressive 80-61 win against Bellarmine.
    Dallion Johnson was the standout player for the Eagles, delivering a career-high 26 points and successfully draining eight three-pointers. Demonstrating his shooting prowess, Johnson made 9 of 18 field goal attempts, while excelling from outside as he hit 8 of 13 shots from beyond the arc.
    Keeshawn Kellman also made a significant contribution to the team’s victory, scoring 20 points. Kellman shot 9 of 13 from the field, and while only making 2 of his 5 free throw attempts, he was a force on the boards with 12 rebounds.
    The Eagles, now with an 18-13 overall record and a 13-5 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference, finished their season on a high note.
    Bellarmine, which struggled throughout the game, saw Myles Watkins stand as their top scorer with 13 points. The Knights ended their season with a disappointing 5-26 record and only 2 wins in conference play.
    The comprehensive victory demonstrated Florida Gulf Coast’s efficiency on both ends of the floor, providing strong momentum as they head into postseason play.
