In a grand celebration marking Fendi’s centenary, the iconic fashion brand showcased its enduring legacy with a spectacular runway presentation on Wednesday in Milan. The Roman luxury house, renowned for its exquisite fur stoles, traces its roots back to its foundation, later evolving into a symbol of Italian craftsmanship under the direction of Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi.
Opening the momentous show were Dardo and Tarzio Delettrez Fendi, seven-year-old members of the family’s fifth generation. They heralded the start of the event by opening the grand new showroom doors, an expanded space designed by their grandmother, Venturini Fendi. The young twins wore a replica of an equestrian outfit initially designed by Lagerfeld, who began his association with Fendi back in 1965. As they traversed the stage, the twins received a warm embrace from their family.
The runway was graced by long-time friends of the house, including supermodel Eva Herzigova who dazzled in a midi dress adorned with accordion pleats and a delicate bow at the neckline. In the wings, newer acquaintances such as Australian rapper and songwriter Bang Chan joined the congratulatory gathering for Venturini Fendi after the show. The audience boasted an array of stars from television, film, and music, with appearances by Sarah Jessica Parker, Matt Bomer, Hailee Steinfeld, Ashley Park, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
Fendi’s Fall-Winter 2025-26 collection paid homage to the brand’s rich heritage, particularly highlighting its expertise in fur and leather craftsmanship. An opulent fur coat, crafted from shearling yet resembling mink or sable, launched the show’s offerings. Timelessly flared coats were notably enhanced by rounded sleeves and dramatic collars. Ribbed knit dresses were adorned with a curly lettuce hem, while a series of chevron designs in leather and knits demonstrated exceptional artisanal excellence. Knit caps paired with face netting offered a contemporary take on borghese chic for a younger audience.
For women, soft leather dresses were complemented by tactile leather ensembles for men, featuring long, luxurious stoles to accentuate the men’s suits. Subtle lace layers echoed through sheer evening dresses, peeking from structured men’s attire or bejeweled knitwear. Among the iconic handbags, Fendi’s Peekaboo and Baguette were accompanied by the return of the Spy Bag, distinguished by its twisted handle. Large, whimsical stuffed dolls attached to bags added a playful element to the collection.
Following the fashion show, the revamped showroom transformed into a lively celebration space. Guests indulged in an array of finger foods and chef-prepared pasta served to perfection. The festive atmosphere was elevated by performances from singer Sean Paul and Chinese pop star Yuqi, a Fendi brand ambassador, as they entertained and energized the crowd throughout the party.
