Chaikin Leads Lafayette to 81-65 Win Over Army

    EASTON, Pa. — On Tuesday night, Alex Chaikin delivered a stellar performance, scoring 27 points to lead Lafayette to an 81-65 victory over Army.
    Chaikin was on fire, hitting 7 of 16 shots from the field, with an impressive 4 for 8 from beyond the arc, and converting 9 of 11 free throws for the Leopards, who now stand at 12-18 overall and 7-10 in the Patriot League.
    Additional contributions came from Andrew Phillips, who scored 14 points and snagged eight rebounds, while Caleb Williams added 13 points, shooting 5 of 10 from the field and managing 1 of 4 from three-point territory.
    On the side of the Black Knights, who hold a record of 16-13 overall and 10-7 in the league, AJ Allenspach stood out with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jalen Rucker also chipped in with 14 points and two steals, while both Ryan Curry and Jacen Holloway contributed 10 points each.
    Chaikin notably scored 11 points in the first half, setting the pace for Lafayette with a 38-26 lead at halftime.
    The Leopards further widened their advantage in the second half to 70-51, driven by a significant 12-0 run.
    Looking ahead, both teams are slated to play again on Saturday. Lafayette will travel to face Boston University, whereas Army will host Lehigh.
