NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State extended its winning streak to eight games with a 69-60 victory over Morgan State on Monday night. Christian Ings led the Spartans with 12 points, contributing significantly to their performance. Ings achieved 5-of-10 shooting from the field and made 2-of-3 free throw attempts for Norfolk State, which now boasts a 20-8 overall record and a 10-1 standing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Supporting him, Chris Fields Jr. added 11 points to the scoreboard and secured six rebounds, while Terrance Jones also contributed 11 points, including two successful three-pointers. Their collaborative effort helped maintain the Spartans’ dominance on the court.
Morgan State’s effort was spearheaded by Kameron Hobbs, who scored 20 points for the Bears, making his presence felt. Additionally, Daniel Akitoby provided 17 points, six rebounds, and blocked two shots, showcasing a strong performance despite the team’s loss.
With this victory, Norfolk State has carved out a two-game lead over South Carolina State, with three games remaining in the regular season. As the conclusion of the season approaches, the Spartans aim to continue their successful run.
