FORT WORTH, Texas — In a dominant showing, Hailey Van Lith contributed 26 points, while Sedona Prince added 20 points, eight rebounds, and an impressive seven blocks, leading the No. 10 TCU Horned Frogs to a 71-50 triumph over the 17th-ranked West Virginia.

This victory marks TCU’s 21st consecutive win on home turf, extending a streak that dates back to last season. Additionally, this feat sets new records for the school regarding overall victories, Big 12 Conference wins, and home game triumphs, with 18 wins this season.

With this win, TCU has pulled level with Baylor at the top of the Big 12 standings, with just two games left in the regular season, the most anticipated being a clash with Baylor in Waco next Sunday.

For West Virginia, J.J. Quinerly, who is the fourth-highest scorer in the conference averaging nearly 20 points per game, managed to score only 13 points, leading the team. The Mountaineers (21-6, 11-5) suffered their third loss in the last 11 games. Quinerly’s performance alongside second-leading scorer Jordan Harrison, who put up 11 points, was underwhelming as they shot a combined 8-for-32 from the field.

Notably, West Virginia struggled offensively, posting a season-low shooting percentage of 31%, which resulted in their most significant defeat of the season; their previous largest margin of loss was 77-62 at Arizona back on January 25.

The Horned Frogs currently boast the longest active home winning streak within the Big 12, showcasing exceptional performance as they dominated the first-ever top-20 home match against a conference rival in their 48-year history.

A pivotal moment in the game came from Van Lith, who energized TCU with a personal 7-0 run, driving the lead back to a daunting 20 points at 65-43 midway through the fourth quarter, just after West Virginia had cut a significant 21-point deficit to 14.

A standout statistic from the game featured Prince securing five of her blocks before halftime, contributing to TCU’s commanding 39-20 lead at the break.

Both teams are set for their final home games of the regular season on Wednesday, with Utah visiting West Virginia, and Houston coming to TCU.
