Kendall Graveman, a relief pitcher, has reached a one-year contract agreement worth $1.35 million with the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to a source close to the matter.
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, noted that the deal is contingent upon Graveman successfully passing a physical examination.
The 34-year-old right-handed pitcher is expected to bolster the D-backs’ bullpen and may be in contention for the closer position.
Graveman did not play during the previous season after undergoing surgery in January 2024 to fix a labrum issue in his right shoulder.
Graveman began his Major League Baseball career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2014 and has since played for several teams, including the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Houston Astros.
In the 2023 season, Graveman made appearances for both the White Sox and the Astros, finishing the year with a solid 3.12 ERA across 68 games.
Over the course of his nine seasons in MLB, he holds a career record of 37 wins and 43 losses, with a 3.95 ERA and 24 saves.
